04 February 2008, Press Release: Regarding the official visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Babacan to India, 5-9 February. (Unofficial Translation)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Babacan will pay an official visit to India between 5-9 February 2008, upon the invitation of Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the Minister of External Affairs of India.

Minister Babacan’s visit will constitute the first visit at the level of Minister of Foreign Affairs from Turkey to India in 30 years.

Prior to his official meetings in New Delhi, Minister Babacan will visit Mumbai and Hyderabad. In these two prominent commercial and industrial cities of India he will hold discussions with local officials and business circles.

During his official contacts in New Delhi, the Foreign Minister will particularly take up possibilities of developing relations and expanding cooperation, and will also exchange views on regional and international issues of close interest to both countries
